A U.S.-Registered Nonprofit Transforming Orphan Care Through Complete Human Reconstruction
Unity for Humanity Foundation – Dar Al-Akram – Al-Madina Al-Fadila is a nonprofit development organization registered in the United States under 501(c)(3) status. The Foundation addresses the root causes of orphanhood and deprivation through an integrated model based on human dignity, empowerment, and sustainability, rather than temporary aid or fragmented solutions. The Foundation operates under the highest standards of governance, transparency, and administrative independence, within U.S. and international legal frameworks.
The seed of Unity for Humanity was planted in a modest Palestinian home where a young boy watched rainwater seep through a simple cooking pot. That boy was our founder, Saleh Nofal. In that moment, he understood a profound truth: when the structure is broken, everything inside eventually escapes.
Years later, as an orphan himself at age 15, Saleh experienced firsthand how traditional aid systems often mimic that leaking pot—pouring resources into lives with structural flaws, only to watch potential drain away through the cracks of fragmented care.
In 2025, with this hard-earned wisdom and a resolve to build differently, Unity for Humanity Foundation was officially established in the United States as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We registered not just as another charity, but as a human reconstruction organization with a single purpose: to fix the fundamental structures of vulnerable lives before filling them with opportunity.
Our story is therefore not about creating a new service, but about redesigning the container of care itself. From that childhood kitchen to our Dar Al-Akram communities today, the lesson remains: lasting change requires sound foundations.
While traditional charities focus on filling immediate needs (adding water), we concentrate on repairing the human structure (fixing the pot). We believe poverty, trauma, and deprivation are not just about lacking resources—they're about flawed life systems that leak potential.
We rebuild complete individuals, not just meet temporary needs.
We address root causes and structural flaws, not just surface symptoms.
We create self-reliant contributors, not lifelong aid recipients.
We aspire to build a sustainable humanitarian development model that transforms individuals from aid recipients into independent, productive, and change-leading members of society. We envision a future where human dignity is preserved, and life is reshaped through strong foundations that ensure long-term impact and continuity.
Our mission is to rebuild the human being affected by orphanhood and deprivation through comprehensive development programs that extend from childhood to empowerment and independence. We are committed to providing: Integrated education Psychological and social support Human and skills development Vocational and economic empowerment with the goal of preparing individuals capable of self-reliance and meaningful contribution to their communities.
We believe every individual possesses inherent worth that must be protected and nurtured, not earned or granted.
We commit to solutions that create lasting independence, breaking cycles of dependency rather than maintaining them.
We operate with openness in all matters—financial, operational, and impact-related—building trust through honesty.
We address the whole person, recognizing that psychological, educational, and social needs are interconnected and must be treated simultaneously.
We reject the traditional orphanage model of segregated services. Instead, we've created integrated human ecosystems where all aspects of development occur simultaneously within nurturing communities.
